As I was running on the treadmill today, thinking about how much farther I have to go to get back into shape, I was reminded of my first small group leader in college. I don't even remember her name anymore, but I do remember she was incredibly spiritually mature and she was a nutrition/kinesthetics double-major.
She worked out almost 3 hours a day. She ran, biked, swim, lifted weights. She was a rock. Then one day she was really convicted.
I am spending 3 hours a day at the gym, toning my body and another hour showering, fixing my hair and makeup. I spend a total of 4 hours a day on my outward appearance and only about 30 minutes a day focusing on my insides--my heart, mind, and soul.
How do you add up right now? I am definitely spending double the amount of time on my outward appearance as opposed to my inwards.
Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

What's more important to you--your outward appearance or your soul? I'm not saying don't work out, or wear makeup or cute clothes. But does the amount of time you spend on the two reflect where your priorities really are?
